Since February 2020, Junior Auxiliary of Hattiesburg has supported GirlsOnly•, providing feminine hygiene products for income-eligible women in the Pine Belt. Products are available through the Edwards Street Fellowship Center food pantry; women can pick up product bags one time each month during regular food pantry hours. Eligibility requirements for GirlsOnly• are the same as those of the Food Pantry.
Thanks to the generosity of Junior Auxiliary and the Hattiesburg community, hundreds of bags of feminine hygiene products are distributed every month. Along with products, each bag contains a card with tips on how to use the products, helpful health hints, and important information regarding toxic shock syndrome.
United Healthcare Community Plan awarded a generous grant to purchase tampons and pads for the program throughout 2021.
Donations of products for GirlsOnly• are gratefully accepted at the food pantry from 9 am to 4:30 pm weekdays.
